News From Ms. Edna
| Hancock County – 2008 Business of the Year - Koenig Stainless | ![]() |
Edna and Paul Koenig work hard every day to continue the legacy of Calvin Koenig, founder of Koenig Stainless, Inc. (KSI). The family started their manufacturing business as a
small home-based operation back in 1993, and it now occupies a 15,000-square-foot facility located at the Stennis Air Park Industrial Complex in Kiln. A majority of the products made by Koenig focus
on the oil and gas industry, and they are now building kitchen and galley equipment for the United States Navy. Calvin started his own career working as a laborer in this industry which allowed him
to gain tremendous insight into all areas of metal manufacturing from the ground up. Unfortunately, Calvin passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident back in 2003 and his wife, Edna, and son, Paul,
have remained committed to keeping his vision alive.
Only two weeks after Katrina, Koenig reopened their doors for business. They have been dedicated to their community and to all of their employees, treating them like part of their
own family. They have established a strong sense of pride and loyalty to their company. Many of their employees have been with the company for over fourteen years. “The dedication and commitment of
our employees is what makes KSI a quality producer,” said Edna. She worked alongside her husband for years and after her loss was determined to make sure their family’s company would continue to
deliver a top-quality product with top-quality service. She said, “Calvin’s continued vision and unfailing ideals are the backbone of KSI.” Hancock County is proud of their accomplishments and
recognize KSI as a shining example to other businesses throughout Hancock County. We salute Edna, Paul, and the Koenig Stainless family for their outstanding service and dedication to our
community.
